Today marks the fifth anniversary of the sports drama’s theatrical release. Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Anupam Kher, Bhumika Chawla, and others had significant roles in the Neeraj Pandey directed the film. After many years, veteran actor Anupam Kher, who played cricketer MS Dhoni’s father in the film, had shaved off his mustache. The actor had even gone so far as to tweet, “Shot for Neeraj Pandey’s MS Dhoni biopic. As usual, it’s off to a tremendous start. After many years, I had to trim my mustache for the part.”

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story director Neeraj Pandey once told a leading daily that Sushant Rajput was the best pick for the film. He referred to him as skilled. “He’s from the same section of India as Dhoni, so the dialect and accent weren’t an issue. Neeraj has informed ETimes that he was interested in cricket.
