Both the highest run-getter and the most wicket-taker are Indians, according to Brett Lee
The Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup kicks off on Saturday, with the top cricketing nations competing for the title of world champions in cricket’s shortest format. It’s been five years since the last event, and fans are eager to see some epic duels in a thrilling format. The competition has already begun with the first round, which has countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Ireland competing against Associate nations for four slots in the Super 12 round, where the cricketing elite await.
On Sunday, India will face arch-rival Pakistan in a high-profile match, and fans are anxious to witness the two sides go head-to-head. India won two warm-up matches against England and Australia prior to the tournament’s start.
Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee believes that sub-continental teams will have an advantage in these conditions, but that players from other countries will benefit from IPL experience. Virat Kohli’s side, on the other hand, remains the front-runners, according to him.
“Teams from the subcontinent have had the most success on these wickets, therefore they usually have an advantage. But, because the IPL final was just played on these fields, I believe it has brought the playing field closer together, and both the Aussies and the Proteas will be thinking that “Lee stated in his ICC column.
“However, with their top four or five batting and bowling attack, I believe India are probably the favourites,” he continued.
Lee also predicted that India opener KL Rahul would end with the most runs in the competition and that Rahul’s Punjab Kings partner Mohammed Shami would take the most wickets.
“Based on the last few months, I have KL Rahul as the leading run-scorer and Mohammed Shami as the leading wicket-taker in the competition. So it’s a nice start if they deliver and India has one of the best run-scorers and wicket-takers in the world “Lee remarked.
