Kangana Ranaut has come out in favour of Sudhaa Chandran following her letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi: I hope she is treated with dignity.

Sudhaa Chandran recently made headlines after she wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explain her situation at the airports. The elderly actress posted a video to social media in which she discussed how she needs to take her prosthetic limb off at airport security every time she flies. While she pleaded with Prime Minister Modi to take action in the situation, her video became viral. In the midst of all, Kangana Ranaut has come out in favour of Sudhaa.

Kangana shared Sudhaa’s predicament on her Instagram storey, praising the veteran actress for her professional achievements and insisting that she be treated with dignity. “Sudhaa Ji is a veteran artist…. A brilliant dancer and actor,” she wrote. Despite the fact that she lost her leg, she rose to great heights in the realm of dancing… I hope she is treated with dignity”. Sudhaa had claimed, “Every time I go on a professional visit, I am stopped at the airport, and when I request an ETD (Explosive Trace Detector) for my artificial limb from the CISF officials, they still ask me to remove my artificial limb and present it to them.” Modi ji, is this humanly possible? Is this the issue that our country is debating? Is this the kind of respect that a woman in our culture has for another woman? Please offer older persons a card that says “senior citizen,” as my sincere request to you, Modi ji.

Meanwhile, the CISF has asked Sudhaa to apologise on social media. “We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused to Ms Sudhaa Chandra,” they tweeted. Prosthetics should only be removed for security checks in extraordinary circumstances, according to the procedure. Will investigate why Ms Sudhaa Chandran was asked to remove the prosthesis by the female worker in question. We promise Ms Sudhaa Chandran that all of our employees will be re-trained on the protocols so that travelling clients are not inconvenienced.”
