“It’s rather funny to hear people talking about my form,” David Warner says
David Warner, Australia’s opening batsman, believes the accusations about his poor form are greatly overblown, and he finds it ‘funny’ how people are talking about it. Warner was recently released by SunRisers Hyderabad, his Indian Premier League (IPL) team, due to his poor performance. In Australia’s opening match of the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup 2021 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, Warner scored 14 runs against South Africa. “From my point of view, folks commenting about my form is rather amusing.” I find the situation amusing because, at the end of the day, I’ve played very little cricket and then only two games in the IPL, and they essentially wanted to give all the other youngsters a chance. Warner was quoted by Cricket.com.au as stating.
“From my standpoint, that’s fine.” Warm-up games are called that for a reason. “I got my benchmark back the other day (against South Africa) with where I should be with my feet and everything,” he added.
The competition’s first hitter also stated that he is ready to play in the event and that he is in ‘excellent shape.’
“I feel like I’m in a terrific place right now, I’m hitting the ball well in the nets, and I couldn’t be more prepared.” “I felt like I was one boundary away from having a nice inning the other day (against South Africa),” Warner said.
On October 28, Australia will face Sri Lanka in their second ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match in Dubai.
