Fans have been anticipating the release of the Oh My God sequel since its announcement, however, Paresh Rawal will not appear in the film.

Apart from Akshay Kumar, the sequel will have Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in significant roles, as Paresh Rawal will not be appearing.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Paresh Rawal was the first choice for the sequel, but he sought far more than his market value because he was the star in the original film, but doing so would jeopardise the film’s budget.

According to a source, “Paresh was undoubtedly the top choice for Oh My God! 2, and the makers had already begun a conversation with him.” However, the actor claimed that because he was the principal actor in the first film and a major reason for its popularity, he deserved more money than his market value. However, the creators believed that paying more would throw the budget out of whack.”

“Paresh then proposed going into a profit-sharing agreement, but even that didn’t work out because there were numerous producers involved in the project.” The monetary deal didn’t work out after several tries to get on the same page, and Paresh eventually opted to break ways since he believed he deserved more than what he was promised. Only after Paresh’s departure did the producers sign Pankaj Tripathi. “They are now convinced that Pankaj Tripathi would lend the story’s much-needed unique flavour,” the person added.

Amit Rai is directing the sequel.
