After a devastating loss to KKR, Rishabh Pant says, “I can’t change anything after the match”

After Delhi Capitals’ sad loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in the second Qualifier of the Indian Premier League on Wednesday, Rishabh Pant was visibly distressed. With consistent smashes towards the conclusion of the KKR chase, Delhi Capitals bowlers kept their team in the hunt after scoring only 135/5. As the match entered the final six deliveries, KKR had lost six wickets for seven runs in barely over three overs. The game was won by KKR after Rahul Tripathi smashed a six off Ravichandran Ashwin’s final delivery. After the game, a devastated Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant said his team never gave up hope and attempted to stay in the game as long as possible.

“Nothing can be changed after the match. We never gave up hope and stayed in the game as long as we could. It was dragged back by the bowlers. During the middle overs, they bowled quite well. We were unable to rotate the strike because we were stranded “Pant stated during the post-match press conference.

Pant went on to say that he hopes to return next season stronger and better and help them turn their fortunes around.

“Hopefully, we’ll be able to bounce back next year and have a better season. Throughout the season, we played some great cricket. We stayed close and looked out for one another. We’re hoping to improve next year and make a great comeback “Pant came to a conclusion.

After being put in to bat by Eoin Morgan, Delhi Capitals could only muster a total of 135 for five in their allotted 20 overs.

In response, despite a major glitch, KKR managed to cross the finish line and secure a spot in the IPL 2021 finals.

The two-time champions will face MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in the T20 league final on Friday in Dubai.
