“Amazing Catches” from the final day of the T20 World Cup in Oman

Bangladesh has qualified for the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup after defeating Papua New Guinea by 84 runs (PNG). The Mahmudullah-led side dominated PNG from start to finish, first with the bat and then with the ball. Bangladesh batted first and scored 181/7 before their bowlers bundled out the Asad Vala-led team for a total of 97 to win by 84 runs. In the other match in Oman, the hosts were overwhelmed by Scotland, who won Group B under Kyle Coetzer’s leadership. Apart from batting and bowling, the teams put up numerous outstanding fielding performances that drew everyone’s attention. The International Cricket Council (ICC) turned to Instagram to post a video of some of the “mind-boggling catches” from the final day of the T20 World Cup in Oman.

“From mind-boggling catches to canny bowling, there were all sorts of dismissals on the final day of the Oman leg of matches ” the video captioned on Instagram.

Shakib struck on his first ball to eliminate PNG all-rounder Charles Amini in the first match of the double-header on Thursday. Shakib bowled a flighted ball to Amini, who attempted a huge shot, but Mohammad Naim saved the day in the field with a spectacular diving catch that prevented the ball from jumping the boundary rope.

Sese Bau of Papua New Guinea was outstanding in the field, catching three balls. In ICC’s post, his catch at the square-leg fence to dismiss Litton Das was also mentioned.

Round 1 Group B’s final matchday was today. Bangladesh, who have already qualified for the Super 12s, won two of their three games this round. They’ve been assigned to Group 1 of the Super 12 stages, where they’ll compete against Australia, England, the West Indies, and South Africa.

Scotland, who went undefeated in the Round 1 round, has been placed in Group 2 with India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and New Zealand for the Super 12 phases.
