David Warner Sends Emotional Message To SunRisers Hyderabad Fans: “I’m Going To Miss You All!”

1

On Friday, David Warner shared an emotional message on Instagram, thanking the Sunrisers Hyderabad supporters. The message arrived on the day of SRH’s final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season, which they will play against Mumbai Indians. Warner was left out of the starting lineup. On September 25, he played his final match for SRH against Punjab Kings.

“Thank You for the memories created. To all the fans, you have been a driving force for our team always to give 100%. I can’t thank you all enough for the support shown. It’s been a great ride. My family and I are going to miss you all!! #respect #cricket #hyderabad One last effort today”, Warner wrote beside a picture of himself in which he is seen thanking SRH supporters for their support.

Warner has had a difficult season with SRH, in which he was stripped of his captaincy before being dismissed from the team. This year, the left-handed Australian opener has had one of his worst IPL seasons, hitting 195 runs in eight matches and only two half-centuries. Warner’s performances have had a significant impact on SRH’s season; regardless of the outcome of their final match, they will end at the bottom of the points table.

Warner tied the title for most runs scored for the franchise in the IPL, with 4014 runs scored in just 95 matches at a 49.55 average. Since joining the franchise in 2014, he has had two centuries and forty fifties for them. He also led SRH to their first IPL triumph in 2016, when they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final.

With a huge auction planned for next season, Warner appears to have opted to exit the franchise.
