Emraan Hashmi to team up With Akshay Kumar for remake of Malayalam Comedy Thriller

Akshay Kumar is definitely one of Bollywood’s busiest stars, with many films scheduled for release and now, we learn that Akshay will work with Emraan Hashmi for the first time in his career.

According to a source from Peeping Moon, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi will star in Raj Mehta’s upcoming film, “Good Newwz.”

This untitled comedy-thriller, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is rumored to be a Hindi version of the blockbuster Malayalam film “Driving Licence” (2019).

“The film in question is a remake of Prithviraj’s Malayalam blockbuster Driving License. Both Akshay and Raj adored the original film and decided to recreate it for the Bollywood audience with a few screenplay changes,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The original film is about a misunderstanding that leads to an ego battle between a celebrity and a motor vehicle examiner who also happens to be a fan of the actor.

According to reports, Akshay would play the superstar (played by Prithviraj), while Emraan will play the inspector (played by Suraj Venjaramoodu).

The film is expected to begin shooting in the UK in January of next year, with a 40-day timeline from start to finish.
