For Dancing On A Flyover, A Kolkata Influencer Is Fined | Viral video
Sandy Saha, a social media influencer from Kolkata, West Bengal, has gotten himself into trouble after posting a video of himself dancing on a busy flyover. Mr. Saha can be seen in the footage coming out of a car parked on the city’s Maa flyover, going up to the traffic divider, and dancing. On Tuesday, Kolkata Police filed a case against the car’s owner, according to India Today. The owner of the vehicle was identified by the traffic control room in Lalbazar using CCTV footage and a video that Mr. Saha posted on Facebook.
He can be seen dancing to the track Main Aai Hoon UP Bihar Lootne in the 3-minute and 38-second video. The song’s choice does not appear to be coincidental: the Maa flyover was recently featured in a newspaper campaign aimed at boosting the image of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Many social media users, however, identified the flyover as the ‘Maa Flyover,’ which was built by Mamata Bannerjee’s government in central Kolkata.
The video has received 4.2 million views on Facebook since it was posted last Monday. Many others tagged Kolkata Police in the comments section, requesting that they take action against the influencer for breaching traffic laws.
On its own initiative, the Kolkata Police filed a case and issued a fine notice to Mr. Saha and those who were present with him at the time of the shooting.
Sandy Saha, who has over 1.5 million Facebook followers, has denied any misconduct, according to Firstpost. He then admitted that he was unaware that stopping vehicles on a flyover was unlawful.
