IPL2021:Manjrekar predicts future captain of RCB
Virat Kohli announced his decision to step down as Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) captain after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Though he will continue to be with RCB as a player, Kohli will be playing under a new captain from the next season.
AB de Villiers, a former national captain, remains to be a strong contender to replace him. Young Devdutt Padikkal is another player who will be in the fray. The decision over the new captain will hugely depend on the fact whether these two are retained or not.
But Cricket expert Sanjay Manjrekar believes AB de Villiers would not be the right successor to Virat Kohli
Commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has made his 3 picks. Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Manjrekar went ahead with Kieron Pollard, Suryakumar Yadav, and David Warner.
“How many years could you get out of AB de Villiers as the captain? So I would like to have someone who has at least three years to offer. Pollard is one guy who has the leadership qualities. Suryakumar Yadav and David Warner are my three contenders,” he told ESPNcricinfo.
