Ishq Vishk 2 is back on course, with a script in the works

Shahid Kapoor made his acting debut in 2003’s Ishq Vishk, a coming-of-age rom-com that catapulted him to stardom. His collaboration with Amrita Rao was also well received, and the two went on to work together in three more films: Sooraj Barjatya’s Vivah, Mahesh Manjrekar’s Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!, and John Matthew Matthan’s Shikhar. Ishq Vishk 2 has been rumoured for a while, and according to Pinkvilla, the much-anticipated sequel is once again on track.

“Ishq Vishk producer Ramesh Taurani is ecstatic about the film, and his writers have already started working on the script. Because of the pandemic and a few other projects already in the works, work on it had been put on hold for a while. However, production on the sequel has resumed, and Mr Taurani will begin looking for a director and performers as soon as the final script is completed,” according to a person close to the project.

In addition to Shahid and Amrita, Vishal Malhotra, Shenaz Treasury, Neelima Azeem, and Satish Shah were among the cast members of Ishq Vishk.
