Karan Johar Supposedly Shelves Yuvraj Singh Biopic Film?

From Saina Nehwal to Shershaah to Udham Singh and others, 2021 has kept us entertained with meaningful biopics.

Luv Ranjan, the filmmaker of Pyaar Ka Punchnama, is working on a biopic about former cricketer Sourav Ganguly.
It appears that a biopic of former Indian international cricketer Yuvraj Singh is also in the works. Yuvraj’s return to the pitch after a difficult battle with lung cancer is nothing short of dramatic.

According to this Bollywood Hungama report, Karan Johar was planning to make a film about Yuvraj Singh and was almost ready to buy the rights. According to the portal, Gully Boy star Siddhant Chaturvedi would star in the project.

Despite repeated meetings, however, things did not work out because Yuvraj was apparently enthusiastic about bringing on an A-lister.

According to a source, “Yuvraj was explicit that his story should include a top A LIST celebrity.” He proposed two choices – Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor – but Karan thought that the narrative needed a relatively new face who could devote the necessary time to character preparation. He also believed that Yuvraj was a national symbol and that his storey would do well regardless of the actors.”

So it appears that KJO has withdrawn for the time being.
