KKR batted first and produced 171/4 before bowling out RR for 85 to claim their 7th win of the season. While young Shivam Mavi took four wickets, Lockie Ferguson took three as KKR cruised to win.

KKR got an early breakthrough with the ball, as Shakib Al Hasan and Shivam Mavi both struck in their respective opening overs. Mavi defeated Sanju Samson while Shakib dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Ferguson then produced a double-wicket fourth over to dismiss Liam Livingstone and Anuj Rawat, reducing RR to 13/4. KKR kept chipping away, with Mavi scalping Glenn Phillips and Shivam Dube in the eighth over.

RR lost their wicket in the ninth over, only with 35 runs on the scoreboard, when Varun Chakravarthy caught Chris Morris LBW.

While Rahul Tewatia fought hard and scored 44, KKR bowled RR out for 85 to take two points.

Earlier, batting first, KKR made a cautious and strong start, with the opening pair of Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer laying the groundwork with a 76-run stand.

Tewatia then gave RR a much-needed break, dismissing Iyer for 38 in the 11th over. While Nitish Rana was quick out the blocks, he also bowled the next over.

Rahul Tripathi then joined Gill in the middle, where he had his second consecutive fifty. Gill, who had scored 56 runs, was removed by Chris Morris after they contributed 41 runs together.

Chetan Sakariya took his first wicket of the match shortly after Tripathi was out. Captain Eoin Morgan and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik then put on an unbroken 26-run stand to help KKR post a challenging 171/4 total.

By 86 runs, Kolkata Knight Riders 171/4 (Shubman Gill 56, Venkatesh Iyer 38; Chetan Sakariya 1/23) defeated Rajasthan Royals 85 (Rahul Tewatia 44, Shivam Dube 18; Shivam Mavi 4/21)
