“Loyalty Matters”: Virat Kohli Promises To Play For RCB until his last Of The IPL
Royal Challengers Bangalore were knocked out of the present T20 league on Monday, with Virat Kohli’s final game as captain ending in a sad loss to Kolkata Knight Riders. Kohli declared that IPL 2021 will be his final season as RCB captain, after previously announcing that he will step down as captain of the Indian side in the shortest version of the game following the Forthcoming T20 World Cup. Kohli said after the loss to KKR that he has given his all every year as the captain of the team in the IPL.
“I’ve tried my hardest to foster a culture here where kids can come in and play expressive cricket with confidence. It’s something I’ve done with the Indian national team as well. I’ve given it my all. I don’t know how it went over, but I can attest to the fact that I have given 120 per cent to this franchise every year as the team’s leader, which is something I will continue to do as I am a Player “At the post-match presentation, Kohli remarked.
“Yes, I don’t think I’ll be able to play somewhere else. To me, loyalty is more important than other things that appear to be more vital from a worldly perspective. This franchise has put their faith in me, and as I previously stated, I will remain committed to this club until the end of my IPL career “Kohli stated.
Kohli was the leading scorer for RCB in his final innings as captain, scoring 39 runs. After winning the toss and electing to bat, RCB struggled in the middle thanks to an outstanding performance of spin bowling by Sunil Narine, who grabbed four wickets for 21 runs in his allotted 20 overs to restrict the Bangalore-based team to just 138/7.
With two balls to spare, KKR chased down the 139-run mark and will now face Delhi Capitals in the final on Wednesday.
