MIvsKKR: Kolkata Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets
Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi smashed cracking fifties for KKR. Iyer hit his maiden IPL fifty off just 25 balls as he and Rahul Tripathi brought up KKR’s 100 inside 10 overs after Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Shubman Gill on 13 run.
Iyer was dismissed for 53 by Bumrah but Tripathi at the other end brought up his fifty off 29 balls. KKR openers Gill and Venkatesh Iyer had started the with cracking shots.
Earlier Kolkata restrict Mumbai to 155 for 6 in 20 overs after electing to bowl first in Abu Dhabi. MI got off to a flying start through Quinton de Kock (55) and Rohit Sharma (33) put 78 runs stand for first wicket but their innings stuttered once the opening partnership was broken. MI’s middle order failed again in this match, Suryakumar Yadav (5),Ishan kishan (14), Kieron Pollard (21) failed to play big innings for their team. KKR pulled things back by taking quick wickets in the second half to keep the defending champions to a below-par score. KKR pacers Lockie Ferguson and Prasidh Krishna bowled good spells and bagged couple of wickets each for KKR
