Rajkummar Rao on his character in ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’: “He is not a funny guy”
In the upcoming offbeat comedy ‘Hum Do Hamare Do,’ Rajkummar Rao stars opposite Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, and Ratna Pathak Shah. On October 29, the film will be released on an OTT platform. “This is a totally different kind of comedy, it is a shift from what I have done before,” Rajkummar remarked in a recent interview with PTI about the film. My character is usually in a precarious circumstance. It’s not like Stree, Ludo, or Bareilly Ki Barfi, where the comedy is overt and the character is amusing in and of itself.”

“When you think of Ludo, you would feel that my role was a hilarious guy,” Rajkummar continued about his character. But it isn’t like that here; he isn’t a funny guy. He is a serious man who is performing his work, but in the course of doing so, he meets weird people and encounters amusing events… That’s where the hilarity begins.” “Paresh sir’s persona is the funnier one because he is someone who is not bothered about anything,” Rajkummar stated of Paresh Rawal’s character. He’ll say whatever he wants.”
In a recent interview with IANS, Paresh Rawal stated about Rajkummar, “When you deal with so many actors…there are very few actors you admire.” Admire them because you can learn a lot from them, not just because they are successful. You only admire those who teach you anything. Rajkummar is one of those performers with whom you can learn a lot and love working. He experiments with many issues and supports cinema with films such as ‘Shahid’ and ‘Newton.’ The future of film is bright because it feels good when performers like him support it.”
