Rishabh Pant will Remain Captain of Delhi Capitals, Despite the Return of Shreyas Iyer
Rishabh Pant will be a captain of Delhi Capitals for the remainder of IPL 2021, beginning September 19.
JSW-GMR co-owned Delhi Capitals and also franchise officials handle tweeted this news.
Speculation was high as Shreyas Iyer, their former captain, returned from a shoulder injury to join the Delhi Capitals camp in the UAE. Wicketkeeper-batsman Pant was appointed as captain before the start of the IPL 2021 season in April after Iyer suffered the shoulder injury during a limited-overs series against England earlier this year.
Under the captaincy of Pant, they currently leading the IPL points table with 12 points having won six games earlier this year after he was assigned the role in absence of injured Iyer, so the decision was not very surprised one because the team did a pretty good job under his captaincy.
