Was Virat Kohli’s “advice” helpful in getting Glenn Maxwell out?
India got off to a strong start in the T20 World Cup, winning two games in a row. On Wednesday, the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai hosted the inaugural champions’ second warm-up game, which they won. In the fourth over of the match, India’s spinners dominated with the ball, leaving Australia at 11/3. Later, the Aaron Finch-led side bounced back from the early setbacks with a 61-run fourth-wicket stand between Glenn Maxwell (37) and Steve Smith (57). Throughout Australia’s innings, Rahul Chahar was equally outstanding with his variations.

When an incident involving India’s designated skipper Virat Kohli drew everyone’s attention, the leg-spinner was delivering his third over.
When Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith were batting in the 12th over of the match, the event occurred.
Maxwell smacked Chahar for a boundary on the first ball of the over. From the opening ball, the in-form Australia all-rounder struck a reverse sweep for four and placed pressure on the leg-spinner.
Chahar then went on to clean Maxwell’s wickets and end his partnership with Steve Smith a few deliveries following their chat.
On its Instagram page, ICC posted a video of the sequence of events. “The exquisite reverse-sweep of Maxwell. Chahar’s counsel from Kohli. Chahar counters with a wicket. There’s a lot to like about this scene in the play “The International Criminal Court (ICC) wrote.
For both teams, this was their final practise game before the Super 12 phase. On October 24, India will play arch-rivals Pakistan in their first game of the tournament in Dubai, while Australia will face South Africa in Abu Dhabi on October 23.
